The Bone

2015, digital projection, game engine

Floor projection of a digital sculpture that randomly rotates every two seconds. The Bone is the result of a 3D scanning experiment with an unexpected outcome. The original object no longer exists; it was deliberately destroyed immediately after the scanning was completed.  Due to errors in the scanning process, the sculpture bears almost no resemblance to the scanned object. However, the work could never have existed without it. The destroyed original lives on forever as a computer-generated fossil.
